EX-CELL^® CD Insect Cell Medium is a chemically defined medium that has been specially developed for various insect cell lines such as Sf21, Sf9, High5 (Tni), C636 and Sf-RVN^™ cells. This formulation is of non-animal origin, is chemically defined and contains no hydrolysates or components of unknown composition. The medium has been formulated with L-glutamine and without cholesterol. Typical viabilities seen in stock cultures are between ~95-98% with passaging every three to four days. A 7-day growth curve performed with Sf-RVN^™ cells and EX-CELL^® CD Insect Medium showed day 7 viable cell densities at ~8 million cells/ml when seeded at ~500,000 cells/ml.
