用于根据耐盐度、着色、D-甘露醇利用和明胶液化作用来分离和鉴别病原性葡萄球菌的选择性培养基。Smuckler 和 Appleman 推荐在该培养基中加入叠氮化钠，使本品可以选择性测定凝固酶阳性葡萄球菌。
制备说明
Dissolve 149.5 g in 1 litre distilled water and sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
