A-kinase anchoring protein 4 (AKAP4) is a member of the AKAP family and is found abundantly in the sperm flagellum. The AKAP4 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at Xp11.22.

生化/生理作用
A-kinase anchoring protein 4 (AKAP4) functions in regulating the development and motility of sperms. This protein is considered a cancer-testis antigen (CTA) and is involved in eliciting an immune response in prostate cancer and multiple myeloma models. Higher levels of AKAP4 are seen in ovarian carcinoma. AKAP4 acts as a biomarker in the detection of early stages of lung cancer.
