SGC-CK2-1 is a potent and highly selective casein 2 (CK2, CKII) inhibitor (CK2α/CK2α′ IC50 = 4.2/2.3 nM by cell-free enzyme assay; DYRK2 IC50 = 440 nM, IC50≥3.4 μM against 465 other kinases). Unlike less specific CK2 inhibitors, SGC-CK2-1 shows no antiproliferation activity in HCT116 or U-87 MG cancer cultures (up to 10 μM) despite its potent cellular activity (CK2α/CK2α′ IC50 = 36/16 nM by cellular NanoBRET assay).
