SFXN4 is a multi-pass membrane protein. It belongs to the sideroflexin family. SFXN4 is a potential iron transporter. Sideroflexin 4 (SFXN4) mutations are known to causemitochondriopathy and macrocytic anemia. SFXN4 is required for maintaining mitochondrial respiratory homeostasis and erythropoiesis. SFXN4 is upregulated in ovarian cancer patients.
