EIF2AK2 (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 α kinase 2) is an intracellular protein that is also called as RNA-dependent protein kinase (PKR). It belongs to the eIF2α family of protein kinases. The protein contains two RNA binding domains and a kinase domain. The PKR gene is localized on human chromosome 2p22-p21.

The protein also participates in several cell regulatory pathways like antiviral activity, growth suppression, transcriptional regulation and apoptosis.
