生化/生理作用

CYTIP (Cytohesin 1 interacting protein) is a cytokine-inducible protein belonging to the guanine nucleotide-exchange proteins (GEPs). It is expressed in the peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs), spleen, thymus, and lymph node. CYTIP is an intracellular, guanine nucleotide exchange factor mainly involved in the regulation of lymphocyte adhesion. Its expression is regulated by cytokines. Its coiled-coil domain interacts with the cytohesin for controlling cytohesin activities. Cytohesin plays an important role in regulation of immune system. It also regulates the movement of T cells, dendritic cells (DCs). During DC maturation, upregulated CYTIP helps to convert it from the sessile to the motile state.
