Integrin subunit α M (ITGAM), also known as cluster of differentiation 11 antigen-like family member B (CD11b), belongs to integrin α chain family. The rat monoclonal antibody M1/70 detects CD11b (integrin αM subunit), a type I transmembrane protein mainly expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes and NK-cells, which associates with CD18 to form Mac-1 integrin that plays important role in cell-cell interactions. In human chromosome, the gene ITGAM is localized on 16p11.2.

应用

The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution is 1 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator. Monoclonal Anti-CD11b-FITC antibody produced in rat has been used in fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) analysis.

生化/生理作用

Integrin subunit α M (ITGAM) combines with b2 chain (ITGB2) and forms leukocyte integrin, which is commonly referred as macrophage 1 antigen (MAC-1) or complement receptor 3 (CR3), which is essential for adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium. ITGAM is a receptor for the degradation product of complement C3 degradation product (iC3b), intracellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM1) and fibrinogen. ITGAM participates in adhesion and phagocytosis. Polymorphism in ITGAM is associated with autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in ITGAM is also related to discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) and systemic scleroderma. ITGAM is implicated in the regulation of acute myeloid leukemia.
