Grainyhead-like 3 (GRHL3), also known as GET1, is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 1p36.11. GRHL3 is one of the mammalian homologues of Grh gene.

生化/生理作用

Grainyhead-like 3 (GRHL3) stimulates gene expression programs involved in various cellular processes, such as cell adhesion, lipid production, cornified envelope formation and protein crosslinking. In addition, it also facilitates keratinocyte migration during eyelid closure and wound healing. Missense mutation in the gene is associated with the development of nonsyndromic cleft palate. In addition, variation in the gene also leads to Van der Woude syndrome (VWS). The protein expression can be used as a diagnostic factor for germinal center B cell (GCB) /non-GCB of diffuse large B cell lymphoma.
