生化/生理作用
GINS2 (GINS complex subunit 2) also referred to as PSF2, Pfs2 or HSPC037 is a 185 amino acid containing protein that occurs as a mammalian homolog of yeast Psf2. Psf2 binds specially to single-stranded DNA and facilitates the initiation of DNA replication and progression of DNA replication forks. It also plays a pivotal role in apoptosis and might function through the p38 MAPK signaling pathway. Additionally, GINS2 also assist as a biomarker for cell proliferation as well as a potential therapeutic target.
