RP11-269F19.9 or LOC343521 encodes for Tctex1 domain-containing protein 4 (TCTEX1D4) that belongs to DYNT1/TCTEX1 family and is mapped on to chromosome 1. TCTEX1D4 is a novel protein phosphatase 1 interactor that forms a complex with PPP1C (TCTEX1D4/PPP1C complex) to facilitate microtubule dynamics, sperm motility and acrosome reaction. The complex also regulates the blood-testis barrier.
