Vimentin (VIM) codes for an intermediate filament protein that modulates cell shape, cytoplasm integrity and cytoskeletal associations. It also regulates immune response, cell signaling and cellular transport. VIM has been analyzed as a molecular target for the treatment of cancer and hepatitis B virus related hepatocellular carcinoma. Vimentin is known to induce malignant transformation in metastatic melanoma.
Rabbit Anti-VIM antibody recognizes bovine, pig, chicken, zebrafish, human, mouse, and rat VIM.
