生化/生理作用
β-丙基酸是一种β−氨基酸，其是泛酸的一种组分，也是组氨酸抗氧化二肽肌肽和鹅肌肽生物合成中的限速氨基酸。内源性β-氨基酸是甘氨酸受体的非选择性激动剂，以及G蛋白偶联的孤儿受体TGR7(MrgD)的配体。 在海洋生物、植入前小鼠胚胎和暴露于低氧胁迫的哺乳动物细胞中，β-丙氨酸流可维持渗透压稳定而发挥细胞保护作用。
